Time For A New Challenge?
September signals the start of so many things, in educational terms. And not just for children.
The commencement of the traditional school year provides an exciting opportunity for all. There is now a huge range of learning potential, with many discounts available for various sectors of the community, including older students.
At Kent Adult Education, for example, Club60 is a loyalty scheme, which is designed to help older learners gain points towards discounts on courses.
There are short courses and day workshops through to four-year part-time degree programmes and post-graduate learning available in Kent, Sussex and Surrey, with something to suit all levels. At the University of Kent, for example, new courses for this academic year include The Pint of Science Festival and presentations on human evolution and future survival. There is also a wide range of courses covering just about everything you could imagine from literature, poetry and creative writing through to arts, crafts and meditation.
Acres (Adult College for Rural East Sussex), provides learning opportunities in the Battle, Crowborough, Heathfield and Hailsham areas. The college also provides functional skill level language courses in addition to a range of arts, craft and creative skills courses.
