Could You be a Foster Carer?

More than 65,000 children live with almost 55,000 foster families across the UK each day yet over 7,000 new foster families are needed in the next 12 months alone to care for a range of children.

Foster Care Fortnight 2018 – #FCF18 – takes place from 14th-27th May and aims to raise the profile of fostering and to show how foster care transforms lives.

With more and more children coming into care and in need of a stable foster home, The Fostering Network is asking people to consider becoming a foster carer, the greatest need being for foster carers for older children, sibling groups and disabled children.

If you’re thinking about becoming a foster carer, the website – www.thefosteringnetwork.org.uk – provides information on what fostering involves and the type of children that need fostering. You can also find a fostering service near you to make an application, or just to find out more about what’s involved.
